What is the Austin Arts Marketplace?

The Austin Arts Marketplace is a virtual peer-to-peer marketplace community that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, where members can vote on how the collected transaction fees are reinvested back into their community.


How much does it cost?

Marketplace transaction fees that are normally kept by other marketplaces, such as Etsy, Poshmart, Amazon, eBay, are collected for the Austin Arts Marketplace Community account. Members vote on how these funds are reinvested back into the community.

Who should be a member?

We welcome creative persons who live within Central Texas or those who feel an affinity with the Austin area, creating or interested in purchasing art of the following mediums:

Do I have to live in Austin to participate?

Not necessarily, because there are many creatives who were priced out of Austin these past few years, yet still feel the city is still a home to them, however be advised that shipping expenses may be a consideration if you live far away. 

How do I join?

Is this a social media app?

No, not really.


Although it’s our aspiration to leverage our Austin Arts Marketplace community to address lingering issues of social and economic inequity, debates on these topics are encouraged to occur on other platforms that are better suited to facilitate on-line discourse.


The Austin Arts Marketplace app is for serious business applications in support of supporting a cooperative effort centered around local self-governance and is commerce-base; a digital community with an emphasis upon supporting entrepreneurial members over social interaction.

How is Payment Managed?

For payment, any major debit and credit card will do.

Vendors are paid for the goods and services they sell in the Austin Arts Marketplace.

Applicable state and local taxes are withheld automatically.
